ONE5NINE: Gluttony

Beautiful or sinful?

We brought you a sneak peek of the first of her ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ collection, now the next look from Charlotte MacKinnon’s ONE5NINE is out;

“GLUTTONY”

she is engulfed by hunger, she cannot wait to gorge

gluttony is giving in to your instinct

engulfing yourself in the sin and gorging beyond repair.

“I wanted to shoot to be really raw both emotionally and physically, it’s almost like the photographer is creeping up to an animal that hasnt eaten in years.”

The dress is designed to be tight around the throat, representing the grasp of gluttony, with a sprawling skirt of pink to represent food stains. It also has the rolled skins of rockmelons dried and painstakingly hand-sewn to look like a machine gun round.

“…the sin itself just overwhelms and allures you to wage war on your senses and onces a person succumbs to it, it’s almost a never ending battle to stop.”

Amazing shoot by Alex Hocking of 78 Platnium Tees – look out for this one! Next of the sins…LUST.

FS: ch-ch-changes

We’ve had a change in plans, and it’s a biggie…

The show will now be held in the beautifully restored ballroom of the Hotel Tivoli:

We’re thinking a mini-market on the mezzanine level, some free drinks on the bar and lots of that amazing Tivoli pizza…what do you think?

Liza Emanuele City of Stars Part 1

Two nights of lavish entertainment and the latest in fashion and bridal – Liza’s annual fundraiser + show is becoming a highly anticipated event on the Adelaide social calendar.

This year’s event was at The Wave (one of the newest and most swish apartment developments, on Gilles St) with beautiful curved floor-to-ceiling windows as a backdrop. Proceeds went to Time for Kids.

Mark Ronson – Ooh Wee

Liza shows are always a delight with a variety of looks, but you always know it will be sexy, flirty and uber-feminine.

Here’s a couple of favourites from the first part (with some cute boys thrown in for good measure!) – Bridal coming up soon :)

Liza Emanuele City of Stars: Social

Liza’s S/S show in support of Time For Kids was a lot of fun – I’ll have a proper write-up when I finish going through the 300+ photos!

First, some socials from the after-party: champagne and hors d’ouevres in the majestic surrounds of Saldechin on King William St…

It’s bad luck to see the bride ‘s dress before wedding day…but who could resist? Here’s a sneak peek of one of the looks…

International Suit-up Day

As you may know, today has been ordained International Suit-up Day in honour of the one and only Barney Stinson. So it seems only fitting to announce that one of our four judges for the Bad Romance show will be Jason from TOD Bespoke!

[he cuts a sharp figure - and I asked him to cast a sharp eye over some celebrity outfits to tell us how they're REALLY faring in the suit stakes (see below)]

Artisan Boutique

A great new boutique has just opened up on Prospect Road exclusively stocking handmade fashion.

It’s run by Kylie Scott, who has gone from Holden employee to making resin jewellery under the label Reason Jewellery. Now, she’s running Artisan Boutique and will be part of the Prospect Food & Wine Festival!

The store has a great range – from some Adelaide names you might already know (Frankie & Bath, Hayley Kate) as well as interstate artists (Juliet Stilhetto and Tyni Couture clothing from Queensland and DanYelle shoes from Sydney) and newer artists with great styles you won’t find elsewhere.

Like what you see? You have the chance to win a $30 voucher for Reason Jewellery by commenting on this post or liking the post on Facebook!! (see the caughtcouture or Artisan Boutique page)

Artisan Boutique is at 96a Prospect Road.

It’s definitely a store to pay a visit to when you’re doing your rounds of the op shops next door – pick up an amazing unique piece and support Adelaide designers while you’re at it!

And if you make clothing or accessories by hand, make sure you get in touch with Kylie (you get all proceeds from sales, plus a shelf for a month costs about the same amount as a stall at Gilles St for a day!)
