I’ve been getting questions about the designers taking part in our fashion parade and I’ve got to say I’m pretty excited about our line-up!
For the first half, we have a great mix of boutiques and labels from hot new designers to vintage goodness – names to be released soon
The second half is of course our design challenge – and congratulations to Hayley Kate and Greta Rumsby for getting into the finals of the Emerging Designer competition at Adelaide Fashion Festival! Can’t wait to see their collections at the show (and what they come up with for ours!)
I’ve also recently gotten photos from the TAFE final year parade…

2threads asked me to share a ‘getting ready to go out’ moment in conjunction with Smirnoff’s great new ‘Home Bar’ page on Facebook (they’re giving away 3 x $5k soley to help you run a party…)
So here’s my prep for a night out!
It starts off with the perfect LBD from Frankie & Bath…
Wait, no…maybe a sexy lace back from Manning Cartell…
Or maybe a burst of colour for summer! This one from Dusk could be a winner…
No, too formal. Wait, how about this?
A cute cut-out back, beautiful colour – perfect for partying! SA label Finders Keepers has it just right!
Okay, shoes…
Maybe some nude boots to lengthen the legs?
Yotam Solomon always has amazing things…but this is too daytime.
Studs are completely on-trend! Amazing Haus of Price…
We brought you a sneak peek of the first of her ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ collection, now the next look from Charlotte MacKinnon’s ONE5NINE is out;
“GLUTTONY”
she is engulfed by hunger, she cannot wait to gorge
gluttony is giving in to your instinct
engulfing yourself in the sin and gorging beyond repair.
“I wanted to shoot to be really raw both emotionally and physically, it’s almost like the photographer is creeping up to an animal that hasnt eaten in years.”
The dress is designed to be tight around the throat, representing the grasp of gluttony, with a sprawling skirt of pink to represent food stains. It also has the rolled skins of rockmelons dried and painstakingly hand-sewn to look like a machine gun round.
“…the sin itself just overwhelms and allures you to wage war on your senses and onces a person succumbs to it, it’s almost a never ending battle to stop.”
Amazing shoot by Alex Hocking of 78 Platnium Tees – look out for this one! Next of the sins…LUST.
Two nights of lavish entertainment and the latest in fashion and bridal – Liza’s annual fundraiser + show is becoming a highly anticipated event on the Adelaide social calendar.
This year’s event was at The Wave (one of the newest and most swish apartment developments, on Gilles St) with beautiful curved floor-to-ceiling windows as a backdrop. Proceeds went to Time for Kids.
Mark Ronson – Ooh Wee
Liza shows are always a delight with a variety of looks, but you always know it will be sexy, flirty and uber-feminine.
Here’s a couple of favourites from the first part (with some cute boys thrown in for good measure!) – Bridal coming up soon

Huge statement necklaces with big jewels and lots of sparkle are the piece du jour for making a classic cocktail dress pop or making a military outfit a little more feminine. They’ve been seen everywhere from Mimco to Sportsgirl as the season’s must-have.
We’re helping you get the statement piece that nobody else will have – and supporting a local designer – with a voucher giveaway for Reason Jewellery. There’s plenty of big necklaces as well as colourfully creative resin pieces.
For your chance to win simply check out this post and comment!
We’ve already had some facebook entries and we’ll be drawing the winner soon, so get in while you can!
As you may know, today has been ordained International Suit-up Day in honour of the one and only Barney Stinson. So it seems only fitting to announce that one of our four judges for the Bad Romance show will be Jason from TOD Bespoke!
[he cuts a sharp figure - and I asked him to cast a sharp eye over some celebrity outfits to tell us how they're REALLY faring in the suit stakes (see below)]
