Whether you’re just starting to create your own collections or you’re known across the nation, if you’re a South Australian fashion designer WE WANT YOU.
If you’ve EVER wanted the chance to show the extent of your creativity without any commercial limits or clients who don’t know what they want, this is it!
The challenge: You’ll receive a mystery bag with 5 ‘ugly’ recycled clothing items + 1 random object. Your challenge is create an outfit that turns the ‘ugly’ into the beautiful!
Specifications: You can do whatever you want to the garments; cut them, dye them, completely re-do them. The only limits are that you must you at least 20% of each item, and we prefer that the resulting garments are an Australian standard size ten.
Entry fee: $30 (this is just to cover our costs of sourcing the items!)
General theme: Bad Romance
Entries are due November 10. We’re also working on offering a prize for the best outfit of the night.
All of the designs will form a collection to be shown on November 24 (Wednesday) at Garage Bar, along with drinks, high tea and entertainment. All proceeds will go to CanTeen.
The show also aims to promote other South Australian creatives and businesses, so you’ll be getting the chance to work with other up-and-comers in the fashion industry as well as gaining more exposure!
