The Royal Room opens!

There’s a rule in Singapore; what happens at Filter, stays at Filter. So while the salacious exclusive club has been the talk of the town, caughtcouture is letting you keep your dignity and touring its younger sibling The Royal Room instead…

Here’s a few style bites from the club’s second night open to the public on Saturday August 27:

As you can tell, we’re loving gorgeous gowns and bright colours, especially that royal, royal red.

This is just the start for caughtcouture in Singapore…so bring on your best outfits! We’ll be waiting to catch you…

AFF Emerging Designers: Socials

No I haven’t forgotten…

The faces at the Emerging Designer’s parade were almost as interesting as the looks on the catwalk, with Josh Goot and Christine Centenera sitting front row!

I also got to meet a couple of bloggers for the first time – These Things We Love and Grey Lime Gold aka J and Satamp, lovely to meet you!

[satamp and her bro satang - watch out for these kids, they're releasing a label]

[the lovely cakeface and friends]

[Hayley Kate plus her two closest advisors!]

AFF Emerging Designers: Jaimie Sortino

The winner of the Emerging Designers competition was Jaimie Sortino, who delivered a collection of huge ballgowns that push the boundaries. I loved every piece – particularly if I could wear one running down the street SJP style ;)

AFF Emerging Designers: Sainte Lucie

You might remember my post on Lucy Tucker and her label Sainte Lucie…well she was the runner up in the Emerging Designers competition at Adelaide Fashion Festival! Congratulations! xx

I love the quirky sophistication of the collection…floaty feminine pieces mixed with edgier casual fabrics like leather and denim.

AFF Emerging Designers Parade: Part 1

Saturday’s Emerging Designers competition sponsored by Chambord was a blast! Loads of looks from some up-and-coming talent plus some established and well-loved names.

Here’s some of the fresh labels…

DIVINE MADNESS

You’ve seen Alice Rawlinson’s creations on caughtcouture before and she’s earned her place as Emerging Designer’s competition finalist…

HAYLEY KATE

I’ve just seen Hayley’s entry for the uglee challenge, aka the second half of Fabrication, and it’s gorgeous! (She was also wearing a very impressive gown on the night, photos coming soon)

IVANA AND KATERINA

This year has really been an Ivana & Katerina kinda year. And with the weather heating up we can FINALLY justify getting one of these cossies ;)

YVONNE FAYE

I haven’t seen this label around before but I’m loving the variety and details in the collection!

GRETAKATE

She’s shooting straight to the top with her debut collection, which we’re lucky enough to be featuring at Fabrication! Greta has also completed the challenge and done an amazing job!

JULIE WHITE

Another label I haven’t heard of, but definitely one I’ll be watching out for!

Coming soon: socials, runner-up Sainte Lucie and winner Jaimie Sortino!

Any donations to the ‘buy Katherine a camera that doesn’t go grainy at ISO800′ fun are welcome ;P

Liza Emanuele City of Stars Part 1

Two nights of lavish entertainment and the latest in fashion and bridal – Liza’s annual fundraiser + show is becoming a highly anticipated event on the Adelaide social calendar.

This year’s event was at The Wave (one of the newest and most swish apartment developments, on Gilles St) with beautiful curved floor-to-ceiling windows as a backdrop. Proceeds went to Time for Kids.

Mark Ronson – Ooh Wee

Liza shows are always a delight with a variety of looks, but you always know it will be sexy, flirty and uber-feminine.

Here’s a couple of favourites from the first part (with some cute boys thrown in for good measure!) – Bridal coming up soon :)

[Had some camera issues, but I'm hoping to fix them by AFF with a new lens on its way!]

Liza Emanuele City of Stars: Social

Liza’s S/S show in support of Time For Kids was a lot of fun – I’ll have a proper write-up when I finish going through the 300+ photos!

First, some socials from the after-party: champagne and hors d’ouevres in the majestic surrounds of Saldechin on King William St…

It’s bad luck to see the bride ‘s dress before wedding day…but who could resist? Here’s a sneak peek of one of the looks…

Chasing Nel and the…tattoo parlour?

The Chasing Nel boutique at Glenelg has been an instant Facebook hit for the girls with their killer dresses and heels.

Guys, now it’s your turn – they’re now stocking all the clothes a Chasing Nel girl would wanna see on their boyfriend!

They launched their men’s collection last Thursday with plenty of Good Life pizza, Woodford Reserver and a mini tattoo parlour in the front window…

Sportsgirl Superstyleme

Ellie Goulding – Starry Eyed (Monsieur Adi Remix)

Superstyleme: the chance to hang around in Sportsgirl after hours, eat, drink and get styling tips from the experts:

Unfortunately I didn’t get any good pics of the outfits presented (Maddie has some great ones), but here’s part of one… (the re-enactment)

There were some great giveaways – not just goodie bags, but this lucky girl got a $250 v0ucher for her fashion knowledge!

There was almost as much cool styling at the Superstyleme workshop to be seen in the crowd as there was to be seen on the catwalk. Not to mention that the event drew out a couple of fashion bloggers I hadn’t met before!

[Kellie & Holly from With Love - they're designing for the Bad Romance parade!]

[Maddie and Tania]

[Me + Cris = the stressed out duo behind the Bad Romance fashion show]

Of course, there was also the chance to shop…

I haven’t appeared on here in ages…this is part of my current hat obsession (although not the hat I bought!)

The main points from the styling session?

  • Look out for florals – it’s everywhere from printed jumpsuits to huge flowers you can pin anywhere
  • Espadrilles and wedges = SO in.
  • Grunge is back – keep it comfy and utilitarian but with a feminine edge like lace
  • Scarves, hats and chains are the accessories of the hour
  • Let your inner 70s boho out!

xoxo
