Over the next week, caughtcouture will be bringing you profiles of a few of the online boutiques behind the exciting upcoming event THE FASHION UPRISING.
Without further ado, let us present the first store in our series…
Foggiare was born from a desire to turn a love of fashion into a way to make money during university. Founders Evan and Jo started with a vision: to make fashion-forward, quality pieces at an affordable price.
A little over 4 years later, they have expanded to 2 retail stores and a huge team of ‘fun, happy & friendly fashion-loving people!’
In their words, Foggiare is…
“Feminine, chic with a touch of printed playfulness.”
While they draw inspiration from popular brands like Marc Jacobs and other online retailers like ASOS and NastyGal Vintage, they also believe that there is a lot of Singaporean design talent that goes unnoticed.
“[Singaporean designers] bring fresh ideas to our Singapore-style fashion, but do not have enough support from the locals to bring their collections further. It’s a waste really, there’s a lot of good designers, but few survived. It’s all about cost of doing a business in Singapore and striving in a highly saturated environment.”
Here are a few of Evan and Jo’s favourites from the store:
